Board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, our physicians are fellowship-trained and hold Certificates of Added Qualifications in hand surgery, with some additionally trained in shoulder surgery.

Formed in 1952, The CV Starr Hand Surgery Service has one of the oldest teaching hand fellowships in the country. Our goal is to be the finest hand surgery fellowship in the United States; training compassionate, technically masterful, and academically productive hand surgeons who are leaders in the field.

Steven Z Glickel, MD

Steven Z. Glickel, M.D. is a prominent hand surgeon who was President of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand in 2007-2008. He was Director of the CV Starr Hand Surgery Center from 2001 to 2016. He is currently the Director of Hand Surgery at The Roosevelt Hand to Shoulder Center at OrthoManhattan and a Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center.

Louis W. Catalano III, MD

Dr. Catalano is an Associate Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center, and an Attending Hand Surgeon at the Roosevelt Hand to Shoulder Center at OrthoManhattan. Dr. Catalano was the Fordham University’s team physician from 2002-2014, and is the shoulder specialist for Team New York Aquatics swim team.
